I put this component first because in my view one’s spiritual connection to the creator of the universe – however one expresses it – for me at least by my experience, knowledge understanding and interpretation represents the line of last (and ideally the first) referral when it comes to ultimate guidance with regard to life’s most important decisions. In my view, an atheism or agnosticism that would take everything away from “God,” and on the other hand any belief system that would put too burdensome a projection upon a man-made, or otherwise human invented deity in either case is guaranteed to throw us off course and off balance in any other more secularly oriented pursuit for truth, goodness, kindness, etc.
