I put this component first of the three (thematically) not because the other two aren't essential, but because one's spiritual connection to the creator of the universe – however one expresses it – in my view represents the line of first (ideally) and last (necessarily) referral when it comes to ultimate guidance with regard to life's most important decisions. Consequently,  atheism or agnosticism that would eliminate that creator, as well as belief systems that would mistakenly replace that creator with some form of humanmade, projected surrogate, are all guaranteed to throw us off-course and off-balance when it comes to any other, more secularly- oriented pursuit for truth, goodness, kindness, ecological balance, etc.
